25 years old Tripti Kumar Sharma is a resident of Kundipur village under Bongaon Police Station in the district of 24 Parganas (North). His father, Shaktipada Sharma who makes puffed rice at home to make a living could no longer support his education and Tripti became a college drop-out in his second year.

Life Skill Training at Don Bosco Technical Institute Park Circus

Don Bosco Development Office Kolkata organized a Life Skill training programme for the students of Don Bosco Technical School Park Circus. These students who hail from different districts of West Bengal intends to learn a trade and earn a living. Some who come from far away places avail the hostel facilities offered in another Don Bosco Institution two kilometers away.
Seminar on Fire Safety & Precaution
Don Bosco Development Society, Kolkata has organized a day long seminar on 24th March 2012 for the 1st , 2nd & 3rd year students of Don Bosco Technical School Liluah. The students from different trades like Fitter , Turner & Machinist were the participants present in the AV room of the institution. The seminar commenced at 11 A.M. and continue up to 12:45 P.M. Fr. Tommy Puthumayil welcomed the resource persons from Vivekananda College of Empowerment to Don Bosco and wished the students a very informative day.
Life Skill Training at Dumka VTI
Don Bosco Development Office facilitated the a day long seminar for the students of St.Joseph’s Vocational Training Centres at Dumka. The program was held in the conference hall of the VTC on 10th February 2012. The new students were animated by Mr.Subhechha Ghosh and Sikha Bor on goal setting, knowing the self and management skills.
Promotion for Ashayalam at United Kingdom
Students of Salesian School at Chertsey, United Kingdom, organized a promotional fundraising cultural evening for the children of Don Bosco Ashalayam in Kolkata. The students who visited Don Bosco Kolkata last year for the exchange programme together with the students who visited Kolkata recently organized the evening show. 
Training report on Neigbhourhood Children’s Parliament
Three days training program on Neighbourhood Children’s Parliament (NCP) was organized in Don Bosco Provincial House by Don Bosco Development Society Calcutta (DBDOC). The aim of the training program was to train and equip staff (lay collaborators, sisters and fathers) in NCP and also to form groups in communities so that children’s leadership capacities are built. The training was attended by 35 persons. The Training was facilitated by Fr. Thomas Santiagu, Executive Director Bosco Seva Kendra (BSK) Hyderabad and Mr. Job Puthenpura, NCP Coordinator BSK.
